This cartoon from World Magazine shows my thoughts after reading a New York Times article about recent White House demands on the Detroit automakers. Obama needs to figure out his own problems before presuming that government can make better business decisions than businesses can. He could start by balancing the budget.

The sudden & forced departure of GM’s CEO should trouble every business entity which has taken bailout money from the Obama administration. The President and his Treasury secretary seem to be manipulating this “economic crisis” in order to enhance and enlarge their own power base. The times and circumstances are far different, but the situation somewhat reminds me of the rise and subsequent fall of Julius Caesar.
